A PhD at Elvesys has nothing to do with a typical PhD. You will be immersed in a start-up with a strong entrepreneurial and innovative spirit.
To bring a new product to the market before the end of your PhD. Besides the science, you will learn how to identify a market, get in touch with end-users, and translate their needs and requirements into a real product that can be sold by our brand Elveflow.
This experience will allow you to learn the basics of entrepreneurship and market-driven research.
The scientific project: This project is part of the EUROVA consortium, aiming to develop safe new therapies and interventions in fertility enhancement or fertility preservation for all mammalian species with basic oocyte biology research.
Your role will be to develop a user-friendly microfluidic platform integrating a temperature controller and a gas mixer to precisely control oocyte maturation. Injection of bioactive molecules should be controlled and automated using our dedicated software.
➔ You have a masters degree (or equivalent) in engineering (electronics, mecatronics, robotics…)
➔ You are scientifically rigorous, creative and practical
➔ You can think “outside the box” to find simple solutions to complicated problems, you are not afraid to tackle complex problems
➔ You don’t like routine, and you’re able to quickly adapt to changes in direction
➔ You want a job that makes sense, want to see the outcome of your PhD in the real world and not only on a lab shelf
