This project is part of the EUROVA consortium, a European project developing safe new therapies and interventions for fertility enhancement for all mammalian species. Your work will be embedded in a network of young researchers across Europe exploring the fundamentals of oocyte biology. Within this project, you will develop a user-friendly microfluidic platform that will improve and simplify oocyte research and enable the best conditions for in vitro oocyte maturation. You will need to bring novel solutions to precisely control relevant parameters of the microenvironment of sensitive cell cultures and the maturation of oocytes, e.g. temperature, oxygen, etc. Our specialized software will be used to control and automate the injection of bioactive molecules.
Your mission will be to bring a new product to the market before your project is completed. Besides the scientific aspects, you will learn in an industrial setting how to identify a market, get in touch with end-users and translate their needs into a real product that can be sold by our brand Elveflow. This experience will allow you to learn the basics of entrepreneurship and market-driven research.
➔ You have a masters degree (or equivalent) in engineering (mechanics, electronics, mechatronics, robotics, biomedical…)
➔ You are scientifically rigorous, creative and practical
➔ Prerequisite for eligibility: you must not have spent more than 12 months in France during the past 3 years
➔ You can think “outside the box” to find simple solutions to complicated problems, you are not afraid to tackle complex problems
➔ You don’t like routine, and you’re able to quickly adapt to changes in direction
➔ You want a job that makes sense, want to see the outcome of your research in the real world and not only on a lab shelf
