PDMS is a mineral-organic polymer (a structure containing carbon and silicon) of the siloxane family (word derived from silicon, oxygen andalkane). Apart from microfluidics, it is used as afood additive (E900), in shampoos, and as an anti- foaming agent in beverages or in lubricating oils.
